"A pleasant surprise checking into Magnes Hotel. Our room was very pleasant, well planned and thought of for travellers with space for two suitcases, countertop space for items and aesthetically pleasing. A/C worked well along with wifi. Breakfast was very good. A dedicated underground parkade for the hotel. Happy we booked the hotel to return 10 days later on our way back to Athens."

"Superb modern hotel on the other side of the road from the harbour. We loved everything about this hotel….early check in, added bonus of free parking on site and near to everything. The room was just large enough, with a balcony and all very stylish. Good shower. Our booking came with a free buffet which was fabulous"

"good water front hotel, clean room ( thank you houskeeper Valentina), Good food at restaurant, winery need improvment, got spoiled warm wine ( didn't drink it after one sip) without any verbal or financial apology. ( it was hot wather and look"s like wine wasn't in refrigerator)."

"L’endroit était bien situé, j’aurais bien aimé avoir du sel du poivre un peu d’huile . comme je viens du canada cela aurait été apprécié. Je voyage en autobus je ne peux pas en trimbaler tous. Un petit chiffon pour nettoyer.. J’ai bien aimé l’endroit le calme. Merci à vous tous."

"We had a pleasant stay at Portaria Hotel. It is a nice hotel in a beautiful location, although some areas would benefit from maintenance and updating. Our room was spacious and comfortable, but despite being one of the more modern rooms, it still felt somewhat dated, particularly the bathroom. Everything was clean, though, and we were comfortable throughout our stay. The staff were generally very nice and friendly, although there was one incident we were not happy about. Halfway through our stay, while we were relaxing in our room, a member of staff knocked to inspect the minibar. My wife answered and opened the door, but he then proceeded into the room to check whether anything had been used. We found this quite intrusive and felt it could have been handled with more consideration for our privacy. We really enjoyed the pool and spa. The breakfast was simple but pleasant and appreciated. The location is excellent, within walking distance of the main restaurants in Portaria. The views over Volos, the sea and the surrounding mountains were beautiful and very relaxing. There is also plenty of parking, which was very convenient. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel, particularly for the location, views, pool and spa. With some investment in updating the hotel and a little more attention to guest privacy, it could be even better."
