The hotel is next to a 24 hour car wash - we were woken through the night by the noise of people vacuuming their cars. The area around the hotel has lots of unhoused people, many of whom were smoking crack, which meant that although the location is walkable, it's not a pleasant walk into downtown. I would stay somewhere closer to James Bay next time.

I purposely chose the Sandman Hotel because of its convenient location between Downtown Victoria and the University of Victoria. Went back to the island for my graduation and I would have to say our stay was amazing! The staff went above and beyond from check in, assistance, and until check out. Special shoutout to Jeff/Jeffrey for making sure the temperature in our shower is all fixed and made sure everything was ok. Thanks again for making our stay safe and comfortable!
