I was worried about the stay after reading the reviews. Everything went smoothly. The girl at front desk was friendly, room was clean and spacious for my family of five. Very good location- 10 minutes walk from the train station, the public steam boat right next to the hotel(even the stop has name The Archi).

The property did not match the photos online at all. It is very dated and unkempt. Housekeeping entered the rooms without knocking or announcing their intent. Very disappointing considering that we paid close to $500 US for two rooms for one night. .

The property definitely has a certain charm to it :). That being said I had some issues. I was given a room 3 flights up and the property has no elevator- if you have joint problems like I do (woof). The decor was in my ways lovely but in some regards a let down. I paid for a view of the canal and I got it but the old-world charm in the photos was lacking (my room didn't have any wallpaper or fabric wall covering). I picked partly because of the decor and as you could potentially pay the same amount for one one of the updated rooms (albeit without the view) it is something to consider. It was clean but I wouldn't eat anything off the floors- or breathe in too deep. Breakfast was decent- but be warned it mostly consists of bread and pastries with drinks. The location was alright- I went to Venice for the atmosphere rather than the attractions. I had an all-around good time :)

Very conveniently located next to Vaporetto stop. Easy walking distance to bars and restaurants. Easy walk/ vaporetto ride to train station. Quiet location. Friendly and helpful staff. Daily room service. Plenty nice towels. Good value for money. Not so good - no plug in sink. No hot water in sink ( shower fine). Faulty bed side socket left us with little charge on phone. Minor whinges but would definitely use again

This was the worst hotel I have ever been to...we saw the rooms on Expedia's website and booked based on this - but the reality was completely different... there was dust on the beds, dust and what appeared to be like mould in the bed head, and transparent curtains - the room was on the ground floor and people walking down the alley the room was overlooking made things more worse as we did not feel privacy - I went back to the receptionist after seeing the room and he said it was not possible to change it - so we had a sleepless night basically and first thing in the morning I contacted Expedia and their agent said he was writing to the hotel to get their approval and refund me within 72 hours as I told him the room was not as described and explained everything and that we will not stay for another 4 nights in this room especially as I had my family with me including kids... while leaving the hotel another receptionist showed us another room which was of the same standard of the room we had and so we refused it...shockingly, Expedia did not take enough responsibility and they did not get me a refund and kept saying the hotel refused to approve a refund without even commenting on the pictures of the room I shared with them as evidence..I booked from Expedia not the hotel...I had to take my family and search for another hotel which cost me more money...I told Expedia I will seek legal advice to get my money back as the room was completely different from their images/information

Perfect for our trip to Venice !
We stopped here for 3 nights room was decent enough for the price, staff were helpful and friendly, I feel like the 3 star rating is fair for the price, if your visiting Venice and just need somewhere to rest your head this place is perfect, there may be a few things that could be with a bit of an update and a bit of maintenance other then that it’s was a nice stay, not too far to walk to all the sights, and it was nice being woken up by the smell of freshly baked croissants, don’t be put off by the bad reviews!!!
