Conveniently placed and easy to get to from the water bus which is a huge plus. The hotel is well situated just a few minutes walk from St Mark's Basilica but is just far enough away to feel quiet. Check in was a worry as they didn't seem to have a record of our booking at first, but after some searching they found us on the system. As a result we were allocated a room in the annexe and not the main hotel, which was noisy at times. Not bad, but wouldn't hurry back, especially for the high price.
The hotel is pleasant enough, but due to the air con being switched off at this time of year the room was very hot and stuffy. The only solution was to open windows, letting in dozens of mosquitos, resulting in many irritating bites and buzzing in ears all night. Not necessarily the sole fault of the hotel but worth considering if booking for this time of year. The room was spacious and traditional with a bright and modern bathroom, though the bed was very uncomfortable.
Breakfast was decent with plenty on offer and the ladies in the dining room were very attentive. They offer a range of pastries, eggs, bacon, cereals, cooked meats and so on and the coffee was good.
