Neat place. Very close to the train and bus station, so no hauling your luggage too far on the rough Venice streets was a hughe deal. Great breackfast.

- Air conditioning barely worked to keep the room at a comfortable temperature. - Bathroom fan sounded like it was failing. Loud and barely extracted steam when showering. - Breakfast was the worst I had during my month long Italy trip. - Walls were paper thin, could hear neighbours. - ZERO sound enforcement. We had loud neighbours that kept entering and exiting their room. They also had a small dog that would bark constantly. I called the front desk multiple times and all they did was call or notify the tenants. Nothing else was done. This continued until 4AM local time. I will never stay at a Hotel Principe again.

The hotel is an easy walk from the rail station and near vaporetto stops. The staff was terrific, very friendly. We expected to skip breakfast in favor of photographing in early morning light, but it rained both days we were there. There was a wide variety of food, everything from pastries to scrambled eggs, meat and cheese, even a make your own pancake machine. We got a no view room since we intended to be out all day. It was clean and comfortable. The only criticism I have is the bathroom floor was a little higher than the bedroom and a tripping hazard. Although it's supposed to be the rougher part of town, we felt perfectly safe walking around. Lots of touristy souvenir shops and restaurants, also found a couple nice grocery stores.
