Highly recommended

I would highly recommend this Ecolodge, especially if you like to see wildlife, like quiet and being off the beaten track. The location is perfect becase it is within driving distance to towns, sites and beaches. The family that runs Angels Ecolodge is very friendly, accommodating and met all of our special needs. The food was fantastic and I felt very safe there.

We think this facility has some good potential after the proprietor family has some time to complete their goals of bringing things up to their expected standards. It is a nice little group of cabins, each of which is nice and private, right next to the road and about 5 miles from some beaches. We are not sure where the "Eco" part of the title comes in, except that the cabins are fairly sparsely appointed. No TV (great), no phone ((great), no fridge (unfortunate in that climate), no hot water except in very old fashioned shower (unfortunate). The absence of trails for hiking, or even information about local tr,ails was a disappointment. Breakfast was good. Overall as the most expensive place we stayed in Costa Rica, it did not represent great value for the money.

Wonderful lodge just 15 minutes from beaches

This was such a great experience coming to this lodge. It is a family run lodge. They will be glad to sit down and chat with you about Costa Rica and anything else you want to talk about. The place was very clean and the grounds were beautiful. One of the best parts was waking up in the morning to a tree full of monkeys right next to our little cabin! The pool was wonderful too. I highly recommend staying here.

Private cabin with nice pool. Very quiet

We only stayed one night as a stopover from La Fortuna to the coast. The hotel is owned and operated by a Costa Rican family who were very nice. We had lunch there and the cannellones were homemade by grandma!! I'm a little confused as to why it is called an Eco-lodge. I think a better description would be cabinas with pool. We had the place to ourselves for the afternoon which was quiet and wonderful just relaxing by the pool. This is a two star hotel so don't expect luxury beds. The free breakfast is typical, eggs with beans, coffee. They currently don't have wifi available but that could change in the future.
