"It’s really a period-piece hotel and that’s the big part of its charm. But with this charm comes limitations. The rooms are tiny, and the bathrooms are problematic. But it is clean, the restaurant is nice, the decor is authentic, and the location is perfect for the downtown area. I’ll probably check elsewhere if I visit again, but I’m glad I did it once."

"We double booked this hotel but fella working at the desk fix it quickly without hesitation... Gave us good recommendation for supper. We used the outdoor fire and watched traffic . Didn't get to use the hot tub as it was closed before we could get to it 9 pm. Only bad things were the normal people upstairs stomping around at 6am and the AC unit turning off and on all night long ( no full time fan option)"

"The General Palmer Hotel is a great place to stay while visiting Durango. All the downtown attractions are within walking distance. My room was clean and well furnished. The only improvement could be the breakfast. On offer were the usual things a regular motel on the interstate offers eggs, oatmeal, waffles, pastries etc. The quality of these items could be raised a notch to match the quality of the hotel. Thank you for a comfortable stay."
