With the continued impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, travelling now comes with a few more challenges. Cast your eye over these helpful tips before jumping on your plane to Valaam Archipelago:

• Find out if any travel restrictions apply to your destination and origin before committing to a flight. Also check if there are any conditions you'll need to follow on arrival, such as health testing.
• Requirements state you must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at screening checkpoints. You should be prepared to adjust your mask for ID verification when asked.
• Rather than handing a TSA officer your boarding pass, position it straight on the scanner yourself. After that, hold it up for inspection.
• TSA now allows passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on luggage. This will have to be removed from your bag for X-ray screening.
• Remove personal items from your pockets, such as your wallet, coins and keys, and put them in your carry-on instead of the bins. This will reduce handling during screening.
• Separate any food you're carrying for X-ray scanning. Placing it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA officer to handle and inspect your belongings.
