These dogs reminded me of Balto the sled dog. The trail is full of animal sculptures like this one.

Opened in 1967, the Prayer Tower is a beautiful and otherworldly design. It was created by architect Frank Wallace for televangelist Oral Roberts at his Christian University of the same name.
