Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Downtown Albany New York
10/10 Excellent
"The room was immaculate, bed was extremely comfortable with clean and soft bedding. My biggest issue with hotels is the bathroom. Our bathroom was spotless. We will Definitely book with you again when we are in NY."
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Clifton Park/Saratoga Area
8/10 Good
"Breakfast was not great! Personal covering breakfast area in way of self service. Wiping counters right under me. Knocked my coffee over on to my foot. Although very apologetic she should give patrons space to help themselves"
"Comfortable, Updated Hotel with Some Avoidable Frustrations
Pros
- Recently renovated room and floor with modern décor.
- Spacious bathroom with excellent water pressure.
- Convenient location with McDonald's and Dunkin' across the street; Mumu's Café (highly recommended) about a 15-minute walk away.
- Room was generally clean, comfortable, and well maintained.
Cons
- Bed was too soft for our liking; my wife woke up sore each morning.
- Frustrating TV system that did not return to the last-viewed channel when powered back on.
- Found pet hair on an armchair and later discovered a previous guest's dress in the closet, suggesting the room had not been thoroughly inspected.
- Expedia chat responses were delayed or never received.
- After I accidentally booked two back-to-back reservations, our keys expired. The issue was resolved quickly, but the response from Assistant Manager Tayron came across as somewhat condescending.
- Main entrance and parking lot are behind the hotel, which can confuse GPS users.
Overall: The renovated rooms, spacious bathroom, and convenient location made for a pleasant stay. However, housekeeping oversights, poor pre-arrival communication, the soft mattress, and a few service issues kept the experience from meeting the standard I expect from a Hilton Garden Inn.
3.5/5 stars"
"You have an amazing staff at the overworked check-in/bar/restaurant area. The day we checked in, 2 people were working an extremely busy time - serving guests drinks and food, checking in new arrivals, and cleaning up the area. The two young guys working during our evening there were definitely doing the work of at least 4 people. They still provided friendly, helpful customer service and cheerful dispositions. I don't know how they did it!
Our room was spotless, beds were comfortable, good water pressure in the shower. The room felt FRIGID when we checked in, way too cold for comfort, so we were happy to find we could adjust the temp to our liking!
We did have a problem with WiFi reception on our phones. Don't know what the issue was, but reception was very spotty - sometimes fast, sometimes at a crawl - better outside the building or near the front doors."
