I was a bit stuck when I arrived at Trabzon bus terminus without a hotel booking. So I was pleased to find Nuralp at half the price of the hotels around the terminus, and walkable from the terminus, if a little steep up the hill! It's organized as two rooms to an "apartment" sharing a bathroom and basic kitchen. Nice views over the sea from the front room. And though the back room is a closed view, it benefits from a balcony. The owners were pleasant and friendly. But making the stay really special was the daughter Ayse, who speaks excellent English, and gave me detailed information how to catch a dolmus into the city center, recommendations, and solved all problems. It's possible to walk to a large modern mall down the hill. Or take a dolmus into the old center. Some shops and restaurants nearby too. Overall made a very pleasant few days stay in Trabzon. Note, like a lot of hotels in Turkey, it is close to a very loud Mosque! That can result in some shock early morning wakeups, until you get used to it.

Nice hotel in TBZ

I arrived here in 11am and door was locked with no one in reservation. So I called phone number written on door. Owner kept telling me that door will be opened in 1 pm. It was raining so I just requested to open the door to stay inside. But he just kept saying it opens in 1 pm. Around 12pm door was opened by woman who came for room cleaning. She was very kind and friendly to me. A phonecall with owner almost spoiled my trip in Trabzon but her service saved it. Room was clean, bathroom was clean also. Kitchen was well organized with few plates and cooking tools enable. Air conditioner and refrigerator operated well. All good for rooms. This hotel's location is bit tough for travellers who don't have cars. It's middle of uphill. So if you have big and heavy bag like me, you'll have some tough time to climb up there. Overall, it was nice.
