Charming mountain hide away, lovingly decorated throughout. Views are amazing and a nice pool for those chilled out days. The best welcome you could ever get, very friendly, helpful hosts. Fresh breakfast prepared daily by Linsey, which tasted delicious. Don't ever pass up on her sourdough! You will not be disappointed should you visit, Cant recommend it enough.

Huge balcony over looking the pool which was also fab and we had it to ourselves most of the time, balcony gets the sun until sunset where you can watch the sun go down, there is a steep hill and lots of steps so can be tiring walking up and down, we found the coastal path to the old town which took about 20 mins to get to, the beach was beautiful and not too busy and it’s a 5 minute walk down hill, a bit longer coming back! We had a fabulous stay - the staff at the hotel arranged a airport transfer for us as the flight was delayed until 4am and it went so so smoothly when we arrived. Check in and Check out was easy. A clean, comfortable hotel with friendly, helpful staff. This hotel is close by the Balcon, where everything is situated. It's within easy reach of many bars and restaurants; there's all sorts to suit all tastes.
Beware following the parking signs for Hotel Puerta de la Mar. They take you to the underground car park, next to the hotel. It's handy, yes... but it costs €22.50 a day. Ask at hotel reception and they will help you!

Check in was easy via WhatsApp and as my room was ready I was allowed to check in early. Room is compact but well laid out. Nice touch to have a beach towel. You get a good view of Nerja from the rooftop. Continental breakfast is good. One of the only places where I have used their green tea and not the teabags I bring with me! A good selection Wouldn't English TV channels. stay again.
