The hotel is right on La Mata beach. We were there in Oct, which meant that some bars and restaurants were closed or open during the day only. We had to taxi to Torreviega to find a bar with more than 3 people in. That said the beach is lovely, along which runs a wooden promenade stretching for miles, some of its a bit dodgy though. The hotel leaves a lot to be desired. Very dated. Tiled floors mean if your neighbors like moving furniture throughout the night like ours, then you get no sleep. There's a narrow central alley down the centre of the hotel which gives access to the ground floor rooms. This means everybody passing by has a clear view into your room as they walk by. Curtains stayed closed. The reception staff were helpful as they had to be because we had paid for self catering but were given a room that had no kettle tea or coffee nevermind a kitchen. A kettle was found and a couple of teabags. There are 2 bars/restaurants attached to the hotel. Impossible to work out opening times during the week and riotous at weekends into the early hours. Basically if your looking for a peaceful hotel then this isn't the one for you. Slightly off season means little goes on during the week nights.
