This was a value for money choice. It was very nice, spacious, clean and provided everything one could want except for people who one could put questions to. However I did not need this as everything was clear in the instructions. By saving on staffing one can keep attractive prices. Breakfast was at a nearby bakery, supposedly the best in town. This bakery provided nice breakfasts and staff were nice and helpful and accepted the voucher from the hotel without questions.

The location is amazing with spectacular views down the river. So peaceful and quiet. The room was very clean and the attention to detail was great. Breakfast was served in the room and was a real treat. Service was friendly. A couple of minor things that it is worth knowing about if you visit. Hotels.com still say they take credit cards but they do not. Parking is off street. It's safe and plenty of it but it is not on site and a short walk up a hill. This hotel is absolutely beautiful and set in the most amazing valley and vineyard. The Chapel is gorgeous, the rooms are spacious and the pool is a good size. The facilities are great. Transfer to and from Rede Station included, but not from Régua. The restaurant is not very good at all - the vegetarian rice dish was very bland and the food poorly seasoned, but the wine was fantastic. It was also great value.
