Villa Mitirapa
10/10 Excellent
"The Villa we stayed at was at the end of the property which overlooked a small island in a little bay. The property owner/manager said they have about 10 Villa's and if they are all as nice as the one we had he's lucky (also a super nice and helpful guy), ours had a nice small private pool. The location is a bit secluded so rent a car to best get around and the Wi-Fi worked fine. We did not rent a car and taxi's were about $120 from Papeete, We were brought two breakfasts and an AMAZING dinner of shrimp and rice with the fixings. Highly recommend this place, it is on the south side of the island, I choose it to be able to play golf at the one resort on the island (about 20 min from the property)."

Sublime Tahiti Beach Retreat

"We loved our stay! The bungalow was clean, well maintained, had everything we needed and on a beautiful property looking towards Tahiti Iti. The staff (Anne was a pleasure to meet) was very helpful and available to assist in questions and suggestions to enjoy the island. Sublime is in a central location on the island away from Papeete making a restful and quiet retreat perfect for a relaxing vacation. We would definitely stay here again."

"I stayed in the Kava bungalow which I thought was excellent. That said, the stairs to the loft where the main bed is are small and steep so something to keep in mind if you need to try to make it down to use the bathroom and back up in the dead of night. The grounds and the view are straight out of your favourite travel influencerโs TikTok, so thatโs a highlight, for sure. And the food at the restaurant was great. The whole place is up a steep hill so itโs not really walking friendly but if you can afford to stay here you can likely afford a rental car to negate that."
Pension Terehaunui Teahupoo

"The Teahupoโo surf break is basically directly out front (off-shore at the reef, of course) but water taxis are right at the shore by the front gate of pension so the location could not be better from that POV. Itโs a short walk (5 minutes) on a nice beach path from the Teahupoโo photo wave spot and Olympic rings, or you can drive to the pension and park but only if youโve got a vehicle capable of river-crossing - so that adds to the charm of the place as well. The pension is quite nice, super new, with excellent wifi, so Iโd highly recommend it for sure."
Punatea Village

"This is a great property if you wish to explore the south side of the island, or if you have your own vehicle. Unfortunately it is NOT 2.5 miles from the airport or the cruise ship port. It is on the opposite side of the island, Depending on traffic, a 90 - 150 minute drive. $115 taxi drive. You can get a 3 day tourist bus pass for 1 franc (a bus ride is 4 francs) but the busses stop running at 4:00 local time. The closest grocery store (outstanding selection of fresh fruit & veggies, meats, and baked goods) or restaurant is 2.5 kilometers from Punatea Village. I would stay there again, but only if I had a rental vehicle."

"We very much enjoyed our stay at Fare Arihau Vairoo. The room was lovely and comfortable. Our hosts were so friendly and welcoming and took care of us as though we were family. We ate dinner and breakfast at the restaurant. All the food was prepared by our host from local ingredients mostly grown in their own garden. All the food was exceptional and the service, some from our hosts little girls, was delightful."

"This place is magical. Beautifully landscaped, the decor and layout is inviting and original. The owner, Martine, was incredibly helpful with any needs we had, full of tips on what to do and proud to share her knowledge of the place. It is a tranquil oasis, interrupted only by the clucking of roaming chickens and roosters. Perfect for a relaxing get away in paradise."
