Ox Hotel Carlisle
Very clean budget hotel. Comfortable bed, good linen and towels. Only problem is there are no bedside lights or lamps in the room and main light is very bright, so had to keep the bathroom light on for subdued lighting.

The pillows are very flat. Nice to have a fridge. Very modern room that I enjoyed. The room faced south and was EXTREMELY hot even with closing the curtains all day and the window open. Pleasant, comfortable and reasonably priced accomodation close to train station and local buses. Plenty of eating and drinking options close by. Would definitely consider when staying in The Lakes again.
