"We stayed 15 nights in a Junior Suite. The room was wonderful, large bedroom and en-suite, clean, air conditioned with very original Spanish design and art works. In fact the whole hotel was full of antiques as the house and now hotel has been in the same family for centuries.
Breakfast was varied and plentiful, of high quality. We didn’t dine, but there is a full restaurant for those who wish. Locally within a 3-5 min walk there are plenty of bars / eating places at reasonable prices. These are very Spanish, full of locals and not a tourist trap.
The pool was a reasonable size and never crowded, the gardens are second to none and the whole hotel, being an ex plantation is set around banana plant fields. It is very secluded.
The staff are second to none, we have had good service over the years and this is up there among the best. They just did it naturally it did’t feel forced in any way and as such made the stay more like stopping at a friends than a hotel.
LaPalma in general is very rural; it is not Tenerife and a hire car is pretty essential to get around. We got the impression that the hotel, whilst being in the opposite side to the capital, is on the sunny side. It’s a small island so getting anywhere is no more than about a half hour drive.
I suppose the bottom line is, would we recommend the hotel to others: most certainly."
