Boutique Hotel Niesenblick Self Check In

"The hotel is right on the waters edge which is lovely and shown in the pictures, you can access the lake by jumping off the jetty or by a small 'beach' but there are no steps in to the water which would be handy. There is a pedalo and three paddle boards that can be used by the guests free of charge. The rooms are not air conditioned - it was hot during our stay and there was no cool air coming off of the lake. On the other side of the hotel is the busy main road - which you cannot see in the pictures - we were lucky and had rooms overlooking the lake but rooms on the other side of the building would have been noisy. The breakfast was good. The restaurant was very good - it is not run by the hotel but sub leased - it's menu is not expansive but the food was well done. I think it was expensive for what it is - although the view is lovely."

"The reception was very friendly and helpful. Everything was explained very well. By contrast, the breakfast service in the morning was a bit on the curt side, no explanations, do it yourself. The breakfast buffet, by contrast was well appointed, very satisfactory. The room had everything necessary with one exception: no USB connectivity anywhere. The only electrical connectivity are the Swiss 3 pole plug-ins. There are a number of them but most in places where there is no room to set down a computer. Fortunately, I carry my own plugs, but that should be remedied."

"Clean and comfortable room. The hotel is right next to the castle in a unique location looking over Thun. There is an elevator up to the hotel which we didn’t realize until the second day. It’s located in the parking garage in old town. The elevator was a life saver!"

"The staff throughout the hotel and restaurant were fantastic, all very helpful and friendly. The hotel rooms are great and quiet and the restaurant has excellent local food options, it also seemed popular with locals. Breakfast was great and the free coffee in reception a good start to the day. The hotel is perfectly situated 10minute bus ride away from Thun and with the Visitors Panorama card this is a free journey. We stayed 3 nights and hope to return soon."

"The room is clean and nice. We like the bed, the mattress is comfortable with high-tech materials. It’s in the center of the old town, which is convenient to tour, dining, and shopping. The hotel reception is very nice and helpful."

"Lovely Stay on the lake front with private dock for swimming and lounge chairs and hammocks for relaxing. Great views from the balcony. Friendly staff. Good breakfast. There are a number of free parking spots right in front of the hotel first come first served. Tip: arrive early to get one. Bus #21 runs up and down the lake from Thun to Interlaken with a stop 100ft away. Bus fare is free to guests staying in hotels in the area. Beautiful time in Thun."
