Located next to Thun castle, topmost attraction in town. Still quiet and and sublime. Best sauna/spa I've ever been. Breakfast included and excellent. We also dined at the restaurant and it was our best meal in Switzerland . Commendations to service from Herbert and Patrick. Simply Superb!

Please take the elevator from the parking garage to access the hotel. Do not take the bus like we did and lug your luggage up the very steep hill. Otherwise, this place is beautiful!

We had a wonderful staying at this hotel. The room is nice and clean and have everything we need. It is right at the castle! The only thing is the bed is too hard and the pillow is too soft and the room is too hot but still wonderful overall. The spa is a must do!

The rooms in this castle are modern and comfortable with a lovely view to the courtyard of the castle. My husband and I booked a "cozy" double which was pretty spaceous by EU standards. Nice amenities in the rooms (e.g. coffee maker - which is also quite unusual for a European hotel). We took a taxi up from the train station with our luggage but then discovered the public lift (which is part of an award winning car park-- spotless and convenient!) from the lower section of the old town - so we walked back for our departure. This town is def worth a stay- take the boat trip....

Felt like the Queen of the Castle!
Had an amazing 2-night stay in a panorama view room (2.08) and loved every minute! Spacious room, comfortable bed, big shower, fridge and coffeemaker and kettle. Delicious breakfast (the smoked salmon with horseradish foam was delightful) and the private spa is not to be missed! Book it upon arrival. You'll have access for a 50 minute period and can use the sauna, steam bath, jacuzzi and shower facilities. So great after a day (or week) of hiking! Easy to access via train or bus-they provide a transfer or you can walk...take the short cut elevator in the parking garage.

A historic building. Modern interior. A quick walk to restaurants and the ferry and train station via the elevator. The hotel also provides a free shuttle service.

The staff were incredible. The 3 course meal we had at the restaurant was amazing and we loved the local wine recommendations. Being able to book the spa for a private hour was a pleasant surpise.

My favorite hotel of my trip to Switzerland. I was in the panorama room and the views were incredible. We did the float from Thun to Bern and it was our favorite float ever. So much fun. Highly recommend this hotel and the Aare River.

First time to Thun
Wonderfully interesting building, fabulous employees, and great breakfast for our two room/two-night stay. Very clean. We had one business room and also the tower room. We found ourselves hot though - the tower being a historic designation there is not any air conditioning and limited receptacles for devices, so as the days were perhaps unseasonably hot the room stayed too warm for us until approximately 1am. We left the windows open to catch some breeze - but then we got flies and birds and all the noise from those coming and going as well as those our to the bars having a good time (until 3am on Saturday).

The staff were very friendly, calm, professional and helpful. A dream really! The decor in the room, dining room m and reception was superb. There is only one thing that could be improved ….. Guests should be emailed by the property and from Expedia / other OTA - and explained on their website that there is a lift and that the alternative access to the hotel is via approximately 150 steps ! This is important as one of our party had a heart condition and it proved difficult for them to climb the 150 steps with luggage. We used google to determine how to access the hotel (I imagine many guests will also do this) however Google does not indicate anything about a lift. The hotel could make it clearer on their website for a start.

Beautiful place inside a castle atop a hill. Nice room with coffee, very good breakfast included. Close to the action around the river, pleasant area to walk with stores, restaurants, and ice cream. Pro tip- there is a public parking garage under the castle, and an elevator will bring you up to the hotel. Pretty cool set up, glad I found it!

This hotel was great, nice location, outstanding views and very helpful staff. One recommendation: the hotel could do a better job of describing how to walk to the hotel. It's on top of the mountain. There is an elevator, but we didn't know that until after we climbed almost 200 steps.

Ever wanted to stay in a castle? Here’s your chance! The hotel is within the castle walls of Thün Schloss in the heart of Thün. The room is a good size, the bathroom and shower is very large for European standards. I loved the window seat that overlooked the courtyard and the turrets of the castle. The beds were very comfortable, though a bit squeaky. There’s an espresso machine in the room and a fridge with drinks. The spa and sauna downstairs are really nice: candles and lounge chairs, a dry sauna and a huge soaking tub. Breakfast is provided - but we had to leave for the airport, so I can’t say anything about what was at the breakfast. The parking is at the bottom of the hill in a big parking garage and there’s an elevator that you use to get to the castle/hotel, which is only a few yards away. Loved this place! Our favorite of many hotels on our European road trip.

Wonderful Boutique hotel in outstanding location !
The Boutique Hotel Schlossberg is located admirably, immediately adjacent to the Schloss overlooking the ancient city of Thun. Although parking is off-site, it is located very conveniently located in a feat of engineering- an elevator runs from the hotel to the parking, to the old city, via a hospital.... We stayed in the Panorama room, which is very large, clean, comfortably furnished with beautiful views from all windows. The TV connection was slightly problematic, but once we got the knack of it- no problem (more english-speaking channels would be welcome). The hotel personal were all extremely pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was tasty and well-prepared, We had one dinner, took the special menu of the evening and shared it- it was excellent. I highly recommend this hotel, in every respect.

Possibly the Best located Hotel in Thun
Possibly the best located hotel in Thun with easy access to the old town. The castle has been sympathetically restored and modernised, rooms are clean and comfortable. We had dinner on the terrace with lovely views over the old town. I'm a gluten free vegetarian and was disappointed by the lack of choice as the menu was very meat orientated; a mixed vegetable and mushroom risotto was offered. Service is friendly and efficient so would recommend.
