Once you get over the fact that this is actually a Casino with a hotel inside, and that you walk past the slot machines on your way to your room , it is in fact a good place to stay, The rooms are comfortable, modern, in good condition and well equipped, if bright in red and gold. Parking was directly outside the accomodation - the evening meal and breakfast were both first class

Located in central Luxembourg, this 5* hotel was the perfect luxury base for a weekend visit. From the outside the hotel looks dated, but after checking in, you can enjoy newly refurbished facilities. The rooms were very large and had plush furnishings. The only down side at the hotel was that the spa/pool/gym facilities have not been brought up to scratch, they did feel dated and did not match the rest of the hotels facilities. Modern, chic and very comfortable hotel with amazingly fitted out rooms. Try to get a room with a view over the Old City - well worth the extra!

Lovely hotel and would definitely recommend. The rooms were sound proof which is a miracle these days. Usually you are kept awake by neighbours and banging hotel room doors. Just be mindful that on Sundays most places are closed and the hotel bakery closes at 1.00. The hotel restaurant offered quite an expensive buffet only on Sunday lunchtimes.

We were warmly greated by multilingual receptionist who went out of her way to provide a table in shade whilst final preparations were completed in the room. A cool drink was ordered after a long hard trip in high heat.

The Melia Luxembourg is new and squeaky clean and a good choice if you want to stay at a more high-end hotel and prefer to be outside the hustle and bustle of the touristic town center. My room, the "Melia Guestroom", had a view of the old city accross the gorge, was quite spacious and had a wonderful bed and a nice bathroom (and free nespresso).
