"The first day we reached we had to wait hours to check in even though we were told check in from 3pm. Once we got to our room we were shown around. The TV didnt work and the door handle for the bathroom came off. The guy just put it back on an left.
A few days later the door handle came off again and as I picked it up to put it back on it sliced my finger. I reported it to reception and the maintenance man was sent. He came and told me how the door opens. I had to say to him regardless of how the door opens, the door handle shouldnt be coming off and it definitely shouldnt be slicing my finger. He then went, got a new door handle and in less than 5 mins, it was changed.
The rooms were cleaned daily but a couple of times our towels were taking but not replaced. We had to call reception multiple times but didnt end up getting our towels until after we were back.
When it rains the water continuously drips on the ceiling for hours. So its almost impossible for you to continue sleeping.
Sadly on the last day a gold chain went missing from the desk. It was reported so fingers crossed it shows up as it wasnt in any of our luggage.
Overall the hotel was nice and in a great location. Just a few updates need to be made."
"THIS HOTEL HAS ONLY 1 PROBLEM IN THE LIGHT/RED WOOD SECTION. THE PLACE SMELLED OF MOLD. THE CARPET IN THE HALLWAY CARRIES A MOLDY SMELL. MY FIRST ROOM THERE IS MOLD IN THE BATHROOM TILES. MY ROOM WAS CHANGED BUT THE MOLDY SMELL PERSISTS. THE SMELL IS IN MY LUGGAGE. I WAS ALSO COUGHING ON OCCASSION. OTHER THAN THAT BEST SERVICE BEST STAFF BEST FOOD. KIND PEOPLE. THE MOLDY SMELL IS MY ONLY COMPLAINT. SO FOR ENVIRONMENT WHICH IS NOT A CHOICE IT IS A ZERO."
"I really like the location, and the room was comfortable. But the restaurant was not great, the mosquitoes made the pool area unusable, and they charge a large fee ($100) for early check in. I would also appreciate a mosquito net."
"My stay at Urbano Hotel left me with mixed feelings, but unfortunately one experience during checkout overshadowed what could have been a pleasant stay.
At checkout, the receptionist had to call someone to physically go and inspect my room before I could complete the process. In my opinion, if such procedures are necessary, they should be handled more discreetly so guests do not feel uncomfortable or distrusted.
What frustrated me most was the issue surrounding the water bottles. When I checked in, I was informed that water was complimentary. However, during checkout, the receptionist informed me, almost excitedly, that I had consumed two bottles of water and therefore owed 24 cedis. I was honestly shocked because I genuinely believed the bottled water provided in the room was complimentary, based on what I had been told earlier.
I was then informed that only the warm bottles of water placed on the desk were complimentary, while the cold ones inside the refrigerator were not. Honestly, that made very little sense to me. In Ghana’s heat, most guests will naturally reach for the cold water in the fridge rather than warm water sitting on a desk.
The bigger issue was the complete lack of communication and transparency. There was no visible price list, no minibar notice, and no explanation during check-in that the refrigerated water carried a separate charge of 12 cedis per small bottle. Without that information, the situation felt misleading and unnecessarily unpleasant.

"Very Disappointed!! Stayed at Best Western for 3 days. Upon arriving and being shown the standard room we booked, I was ready to immediately book at a diff hotel. The room smelled of roach spray and was VERY Dimly lit. Since we arrived late, the chances of that were slim. So, we asked for an upgrade. The premium room looked better (no smell) but this room was also VERY dated and cleary not being maintained. On second day, we saw a few roaches and little flies in the bathroom tub. The safe did not work and they did not have someone address it until our last day. The refrigerator had a lock on it??? The hallways on floors above lobby were VERY dimly lit. Carpet was quite old, dust was in corners of floor and walls in the room. Before travelling, I always do research on interested hotels. I even do a google earth search to see recent views of property & streets....I could find nothing on this hotel. Should have known something since this is the only hotel where I couldn't find this info. BEWARE-Do not believe the pictures on website. They clearly were taken shortly after hotel opening in 2010. The hotel is quite rundown. The lobby, restaurant and pool area looks decent but that's it. I will say - most of the staff were very pleasant BUT I WOULD DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!"
"Great stay at the Alisa hotel, helpful staff, good breakfast and clean rooms. They let us check in early as our flight arrived early, that helped a lot."
