"Exceptional stay — the best of our Morocco trip We stayed here from May 13–15, 2026, and had an excellent experience. This was the best hotel stay of our entire Morocco trip (Marrakech, the Sahara Desert, Fes, Chefchaouen, Tangier, and Casablanca). Our deluxe suite on the first floor was huge, elegant, and full of character. The ceiling must have been at least 15 feet high, which made the room feel grand and beautiful. The bedroom, separate living room, and antique-style bathroom were all very spacious, and the suite even had a charming loft area on the side. What impressed us most, though, was the outstanding service. Mahmoud was truly wonderful. You can feel that he is genuine and takes real pride in his work — it is clearly not just a job for him. He loves what he does and helped us better understand the city, the culture, and the local way of life. One especially memorable example was when I realized I had left my belt behind. Mahmoud checked the cost of different options and suggested that using Morocco’s fast delivery service would be the best way to get it back. He arranged the delivery and even communicated with locals in Arabic to make sure everything was handled properly and delivered to me befoire handing back to NY. Overall, this was a very, very impressive stay. The room was beautiful, the property had great character, and the service was exceptional. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling in Morocco."

"We only stayed one night at Hotel Sahrai, but overall we enjoyed the modern design and spacious feel of the hotel. The room had a very stylish and contemporary atmosphere, and we appreciated the thoughtful welcome gifts as well. The pasta we ordered for lunch was delicious, although the waiting time was a bit long, so we would recommend sharing if someone is in a hurry. We also ordered a Caprese dish, but what arrived seemed more like bruschetta with melted cheese and mushrooms rather than a traditional Caprese. We believe it may have simply been a miscommunication, so we politely accepted and enjoyed the dish without any issue. The room and bathroom design, especially the glass elements, felt modern, fun, and a bit sexy. However, there were unfortunately significant clogging issues with both the wash basin and bathtub. In addition, the toilet had a noticeable sewage smell during our stay. We also felt the grayish carpet in the room may need replacing, as it did not appear very clean and had a strong musty smell each time we returned to the room from outside. That said, the room itself was spacious, comfortable, and beautifully designed. With some improvements to the bathroom maintenance and carpeting, the experience could become much more enjoyable."

"Beautiful hotel! The location in the medina can be difficult to navigate on your own, but the staff are very helpful in assisting with transportation. The pool, dinner, and breakfast were especially nice, making the hotel a beautiful oasis in the midst of a busy (and sometimes overwhelming) city."

"Definitely no where close to a 5 star Riad more like a 2 star. The rooms smelled putrid. Food was terrible and not prepared by someone who knows how to cook. Construction going on in main courtyard right below our room for hours including drilling, sawing, and banging - we could not nap. Night before was soccer game where locals came to watch Morocco play in African Cup - TV was in main courtyard of Riad and right below our room so again unable to rest/sleep due to screaming and tons of cigarette smoke. Reception never answered the phone - no one was in charge at the hotel. General Manger was not available despite repeated requests. Owner coincidentally was there one evening and told us that he couldn’t do anything because the general manager is in charge. This place is an absolute scam and should never be billed as a 5 star hotel when there is no service whatsoever. We couldn’t even get extra hangers. Towels and Linens are old and smelly and there are no feather pillows. We want our money back!” "
