"Apartment was clean & large overlooking the tennis court. Property was beautiful albeit over one mile from town with very limited public transportation. Good place to stay if you have an auto. Tavira was beautiful! Grocery store next door was a great place to buy coffee, pastries, yogurt, & fruit for breakfast."

"The staff at this hotel are terrific - Claudio & Marta - you make your company proud. Thanks for your help. Our room was not ready so we were upgraded - a nice touch. Furthermore our friends celebrated birthdays during our stay (staff picked this up from registration) and delivers Champagne and cake. I’ve not seen that before. Breakfast was excellent and pool area beautiful although we did not have too much time to spend there. The hotel is a short distance from the old town but just after bride is the free parking, so it was very easy (they also offer a free shuttle) I’d highly recommend this hotel if visiting Tavira"

Vila Gale Tavira Resort Hotel

"We had a ground floor poolside room which was perfect for us. The pool is lovely, clean with the outside bar. The room was clean and comfortable. A couple of small things would have been good but these didn't spoil our stay such as: the sliding wardrobe door didn't close properly because the mini fridge protruded too far forwards. The fridge door didn't open easily as the bottom of the door was below the wardrobe door runner (fridge was inside the wardrobe) so 2 hands needed to open the fridge and the wardrobe if that makes sense. Also no box of tissues in the room whereas most hotels I've stayed in do have these. Although breakfast was busy (hotel was full) there was a good choice of food and the staff were friendly. Location is perfect, about a 5-10 minute walk into town. Free parking in a car park opposite the side of the hotel next to the Respinol petrol garage. We would definitely recommend staying here. We've rebooked to stay in their Alentejo hotel next year"

"What a great hotel, the location is perfect in Tavira. The hotel is immaculate. All the staff were fantastic, a special mention to the staff that served breakfast & diner. The breakfast is amazing & the evening dining is superb, they make you feel very welcome & there advice on wine is excellent. All together a great a dining experience."

"This place was absolutely charming, the innkeeper was delightful, there’s a free breakfast which was amazing, our room had a lovely balcony overlooking the river and was easy walking to everything. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Only downside would be if you can’t do stairs this is not suitable for you as there is no lift. But highly recommend if you are looking for a true European quaint inn."

"We would most definitely stay at this hotel again. It’s a short walk to the city center. There are a couple restaurants and services very nearby otherwise all of the other restaurants and shopping are within walking distance. It’s in a quiet neighborhood so the rooms are very quiet. The hotel provides towels for the beach. There are a few nice little amenities, such as free cake, fruit, spa water, and pastries at any time of the day. There is a full bar that is only for hotel guests. Hotel has less than 30 rooms. Staff was amazing. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The entire hotel has a lovely design. Plug-ins for your electronics are well thought out. Plenty of hot water. Nice large shower. Our only complaint is the bathrooms are very dark. One other suggestion is they put more shade on the roof rooftop pool area. In the warm late afternoon, it would’ve been lovely to sit up by the pool and have a drink, but the intensity and direction of the sun made it uncomfortable. The pool is small and is not heated so depending on the season, it may not be very useful."

"The hotel staff at the front desk were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast had so much to offer, very enjoyable, and sitting in the lounge area to relax or eat was really a nice option. The gated parking was worry free and the large grocery store within walking distance was convenient although you have to walk around the roundabout so I would only do that during daylight. Overall I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone. Diane from Canada"
