We stayed here for two nights in an unusually snowy April. We were welcomed by very friendly and obliging staff who spoke excellent English, and also a lovely woodburning stove. It's a relatively small family-run hotel in a gorgeous village on the edge of a big lake. Great location to explore this part of Sweden - we wanted to see artist Carl Larsson's house in Sundborn, the Anders Zorn museum in Mora and also the village of Nusnas where they make the painted horses. These were all quite short journeys (an hour or less). Our room was in the main building and was comfortable and really spacious with a sitting area that included a sofa and armchairs, a small balcony - and a stunning view over the lake. There is also a bar and a very spacious seating area downstairs. The restaurant was excellent - very high quality food and charming service. The breakfast buffet was delicious and there was a very wide choice. The decoration of the hotel is very traditional Swedish with some lovely antiques and generally rather quirky. Highly recommended.
