"Staff very friendly! Spend the extra money for the onsen in the room and for the buffet dinner! They are both worth every penny! We can’t wait to go back. The only downside was the bed/futon and bean pillows. The bed and pillow was uncomfortable and my husband didn’t like the futon and he sleeps on the floor every night. The “Las Vegas” was ok but many machines were down. Loved the pipe organ!!"

"I think very few gaijin go this far out. Some of the communication was difficult but the staff tried really hard and we enjoyed the stay Hard to navigate getting to and from major stations and it snowed one day at end of March Overall I’m glad we did it for the experience to be immersed in Japanese culture. "We had a very relaxing family holiday here. There were hardly any other guests when we stayed, and it was almost like having a private resort.The restaurant staff made us two lovely dinners and breakfasts, the first dinner was an intricate kaiseki spread, and the second was delicious grilled steak. Breakfast had plenty of options for both Japanese and Western style meals. The lounge area provided all the drinks and snacks and cup noodles we wanted, and we had a very nice walk around, and up into a snowy area by the river. It was nice to relax in our own private onsen tubs whenever we liked. The surrounding town is pretty quiet, and we didn’t have much time to explore it, but the river and woods are very beautiful. "
