Our experience was excellent from the moment we arrived. The staff is so friendly while handling our requests. We enjoyed the free coffee and relaxing in the balcony and common area. I especially appreciate the convenient location. I needed to buy an extra carryon bag to bring home all my souvenirs, and was happy to find the many home goods stores right around the corner.

I stayed here for 8 days and it was such a pleasant experience. Meander 1948 was kind enough to offer a free guided tour with one of their amazing employees PJ (keep in mind to pay for your own transportation fares and meals expenses which is roughly under $500 TWD equivalent to just about $16 USD) along with the hotel company treating to a delicious fun dessert snack at the end of the tour. It all depends how much you want to drop as well, this is just a guesstimate combining expenditures for the day. The 8 bed dorm room was super comfortable. The lounging area is very peaceful and tranquil. You meet such cool amazing people in there that are traveling or studying abroad. It’s central to lots of fun and local spots. One of the night markets (Ningxia) is about a 10 min walk. The MRT (Mass Rapid Transit) is only a block or two away from the hostel. It’s just such a great location and super affordable. Highly recommended as a solo traveler. The Meander staff is super helpful and will provide any information to help in any way possible. Thanks Meander 1948. With lots of love, I appreciate your service.

Room was clean and good location but very small. Hotel offers no tea or coffee just 2 bottles of water complimentary and 2 meal vouchers to eat at local merchants. Shared bathroom across the end of the hall so inconvenient. I don’t recommend this for senior travelers. Better to book with bathroom.

房間有設計感，老屋重新設計，一樑一柱都見心思，細節滿滿，也夠寬敞，公共區域設施非常完善，很喜歡公共空間那個小露台。唯獨有客人買味道很臭的螺絲粉，在那邊吃，欠缺自覺性。 難得地每一位職員都非常有禮貌，近年少有的體驗，入住及介紹都清晰，笑容和招呼都不缺，同時沒有過度熱情，I 人也放心了，最開心是派發的食肆合作夥伴餐飲券，不是隨便找一間早餐店給人客，部分如大稻埕滷肉飯極有名氣。唯獨小缺點是我住的豪華房沒有熱水壺、要上一層取熱水及茶杯茶包等，熱飲人會覺得太麻煩。 交通及周邊設施非常好，期待有機會再入住。

The hotel is conveniently located right next to Taipei Main Station. I stayed in an 8-person shared room for a few hours due to a flight delay. However, if you are a light sleeper or have never stayed in a dormitory before, I would advise against the shared rooms. Guests come and go at different times, which can make it difficult to get any sleep.

In addition to being very clean, spacious, centrally located, vouchers are provided in lieu of breakfast to redeem from their partner eateries in the area. We thought of the vouchers as a brilliant idea. It eliminates the onset of boredom of same breakfast on your second morning. It added excitement to your day because of the variety served by the different partners from breakfast to lunch and Taiwanese dessert. Definitely a repeater when in Taipei again!
