  • Q Square mall-- not exactly a tourist destination (there are many malls in Taipei) but it's a nice mall located close to Taipei Main station (Metro/MRT) if you're looking to escape the heat. Huge food courts here too with lots of options (and obviously shopping). This mall also has a movie theatre, which shows mostly American movies (but cheaper). It's also about a 10-15 walk to the historic Dihua street, one of the oldest areas of the city which was once the main market area (still lots of interesting shops there that cater to the local...good photo opps too with some older buildings)

The staff at the front desk is very kind. I was able to speak Japanese and stay with peace of mind. The hotel is located a 15-minute walk from Taipei Station and a 5-minute walk from Zhongshan Station, making it convenient to go anywhere. The room was also clean and comfortable. The breakfast was also very good. It is a recommended hotel.
