"A lot of amenities and clean room but can’t speak well of the visit. They where resurfacing the pools in our tower and from 9:am till 5:pm the grinder was almost nonstop and literally shook the building from the vibrating sound and ruined the stay for my invalid wife who likes to stay mostly in the room and watch the ocean. It also didn’t help that they were renovating the unit next to ours and they were not quiet about it. I talked to the front desk twice but there was no refund since we booked through Expedia and they never offered to move us to a different tower. I understand the need to renovate but they should not have booked into this tower until they had finished. We’re in our late seventies and these beach trips mean a lot and the beach prices(almost $200. a day) strains our fixed budget. To be fair, if not for the renovation that also had 5 of the pools closed in addition to the noise, this place is a solid 4 star. I guess next year I might try again and call about any renovations and book through the resort instead of Expedia."

"Checkin not friendly. We were the only ones checking in and got rushed. Our room didn’t get cleaned. We booked for two nights. We left early and didn’t stay the second night. Horrible "

"Complained about hearing loud neighbors through the adjoining door; however, was told by desk associate that nothing could be done and to check back at 11 am. After the people next door were still being loud at 1:30 am we made the decision to switch hotels. The next day we returned to Island Vista and explained our issue, the desk associate couldn't believe how we were treated and was apologetic; however, the manager, although he could hear our conversation, couldn't be bothered to come out of the office to speak to us, instead he called the desk associate into the office for him to tell us we would get a full refund. A phone call to the neighbors to respect the 11am-7am quiet time, or the security guard could have knocked on their door to do so, or since there were very few cars in the parking garage there were plenty of other rooms available; however, none of these possible solutions were even considered. We stayed at Island Vista 2 years ago and everything was excellent; this trip was the complete opposite, could not have been more disappointed."

"Clean room, hot tub was in operable but understand repairs need to happen. Breakfast was good for my 15 year old. This was our second stay. The last was 5 years ago and it was just as nice. We will be back."

"This is the only hotel we will stay at when we travel to the beach. Everything was clean, the beds were comfortable and all of the staff was helpful and super nice."
