Top Syracuse Hotel Reviews
Farmstead Inn & Conference Center
8/10 Good
"Many wonderful memories have been spent at the Farmstead Inn over the years in our family! It has been our go to. Always safe, inviting, very clean room, and wonderful staff. Even handwritten notes from housekeeping is always a sweet touch. The breakfast was warm and one of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve had in a while. It looked as though they had gotten a new floor for the basketball court too. The only negatives I would have is this has been our first stay in a few years and you can tell things are starting to have some age. They are currently building a new pool area outside, but in the meantime, the indoor hot tub was out of order, the pool area was dimly lit and lights were flickering, and the kiddie pool area was cold and the heated jets were off. The playground is cut in half while the construction goes on. The fitness center has a wonderful Sole treadmill, but both of the elliptical’s were so rusted they were hard to turn. It just feels like they are in an odd season right now between projects. It made me a little sad to see it aging like that, but it does look like they are making an effort to fix things up. If you are only staying for the accommodation of the room and wonderful breakfast than you are in luck because the rooms are spotless and beautiful and the service amazing. Just keep in mind the extra’s may not be quite up to par just yet."

"staff was very nice upon check in/out breakfast was great and kept up on. housekeeping came at 8 am and we were asleep and were woken up. there were no ice machines per floor like most hotels and there was only 1 elevator, and it took forever to get on/off."

Der Ruhe Blatz Motel
8/10 Good
"To be a Amish or Mennonite hotel the night desk person dressed and acted very much like a harlot. She had a very short dress on and was sitting behind the counter in a recliner with her legs spread wide open when I walked in. Very unprofessional and disrespectful to the Amish and Mennonite culture and to any respectable lady that walks in with her husband. One should not be a stumbling block to other peoples husbands just because one has no respect or proper manners. Unacceptable. The food was alll out of a can or precooked. Gross. The room was great and comfortable and the location was just right. The beautiful gazebo was a sad storage area for new mini fridges and could not be used as a amenity. It would have been nice to use. Maybe this hotel needs a storage building for maintenance. Staff uniforms or dress codes with no short skirts or low cut blouses would be professional. English, Amish or Mennonites should not dress like harlots. The food. Try Mrs B’s biscuits from Walmart. Much better. How about homemade white gravy. Thats easy to make in a crock pot. Eggs… just make breakfast casserole. Simple and can be served in squares. Next Biblical principals are a must. Thanks"
