Camburi village is a typical of the area; rustic, weather-beaten, but welcoming enough. You should have some basic knowledge of portuguese though to get by. Hotel Camburi Praia is just off the main street running through the village and about 150m from the beach. It's a very basic hotel (my room 34 was a bit dated, but comfortable enough)....

I came here from the United States, thankfully I was with my Brazilian girlfriend who translated for me, even so this is a hidden gem for any American tourists with some Portuguese skills or access to Google Translate. 10/10 would recommend, while it may not seem like a typical American tourist location, to those willing to be a little more adventurous this could be the perfect place!!!"
