Great hotel, clean and modern but the bed was the hardest I have ever slept on.

everything is good, however if you wish the hotel staff clean up your room, you need to leave your key card at a designated area, if not you room will left as it it.

We stayed here for 2 wonderful nights. The hotel features in the World Boutique Hotel Awards Collection 2015 and rightly so. With 11 beautiful bedrooms, library, roof terrace, stylish traditional design and friendly staff who make every effort made to accommodate customers exacting requirements this as good as it gets. Just don't expect an olympic sized swimming pool, gymnasium and conference facilities.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The property is beautiful, but it’s the staff and service that truly set this place apart. Throughout my stay, all the staff were incredibly attentive, helped me find my way around the best local spots, and had the most positive and helpful attitude all round. This hotel is so very beautiful and unique, expressing love for a vibrant bygone age that was the Peranakan Chinese in the late 19C and early 20C in the highly decorated southern Chinese furniture, objets and gilded carpentry in the hotel's overall decor, as well as the use of Victorian floor tiles which was favoured for both their beauty and practicality. There are many boutique hotels out there these days, some much better than others, but the Edison George Town has to be up there as one of the best I have stayed in. Smack in the heart of colonial George Town is this wonderfully renovated hotel, brought back to life by the new owners. Friendly staff and clean rooms

A beautiful, new hotel with wonderfully helpful staff. Rahul at breakfast and the rest of his team were especially nice. Offering takeaway items without us having to ask which was a nice touch. Location was really good but we loved Penang as a whole anyway. Message wasn't the best but can't fault anything else with the hotel. Nice poolside too, would definitely return.

Wonderful hotel with very welcoming and helpful staff. A very good buffet breakfast selection, with a la carte options, freshly squeezed orange juice and cappuccino. A nice small pool with sunbeds. Rooms very clean and comfortable. An excellent stay!

Excellent hotel with great staff.

Staff were always friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful. Everything is brand new and lovely. Rooms are elegant and spacious with an excellent shower. Great location for walking to Little India, Little China, the heritage area, jetties, street art, and many eateries of all kinds. Beautiful rooftop infinity pool with towels and shower.

Its a wonderful building with very pleasant staff. Limited food options, but many local places to eat. Rooms are lovely, with lots of space. Road noise can be an issue, but wasnt for me.

Nice small motel opposite Batu Ferringhi beach. Very friendly and helpful owners. Lots of shops and restaurants close by

Nearly a 2 week stay at Ascott Gurney. A lovely hotel with great facilities. Rooms were spacious and clean.. Lovely downstairs bar / reception area. Swimming pool area was great.. separate covered pool area for children to use..gym well equipped and with good air con. Location of the hotel is really good. You can walk into George Town if you want (approx 40 minutes) or take a taxi which won't cost a lot. Opposite the hotel is a recently completed park / walking area, very pleasant. Shopping...

Great customer service provided by staff. Rooms well ventilated. Staff were very understanding when we had our pre-wedding shoot on their premises
