"We had a wonderful time at LEGOLAND, and it was a great family trip with our two toddlers! We stayed at the Beach Retreat, which was clean, quiet, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The kids loved the little LEGO surprises waiting in the room—it was such a fun touch. The food was also surprisingly good, and there were several restaurants and stores within about a 10–15 minute drive.
If I were to do it again, I’d probably stay at the main LEGOLAND Hotel instead. Most of the shows, character meet-and-greets, and kid activities take place there, and with two toddlers, it was difficult to make multiple trips across the road. While there is a shuttle between the resorts, it runs on a limited schedule rather than continuously, so we ended up missing out on many of the activities we had hoped to enjoy.
One downside of the Beach Retreat was the lack of a traditional front desk. It made it a little harder to ask questions or get information when we needed assistance.
The only real issue we encountered was after checkout, when an unexpectedly large charge appeared on my card. After contacting LEGOLAND directly and filing a claim with my bank, the issue was resolved and the charge was reversed within about a week.
Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely visit LEGOLAND again. Next time, though, we’ll likely book the main hotel so it’s easier to take advantage of all the activities without having to worry about transportation with little ones."
