"Unfortunately, our stay did not meet expectations. The hotel is noticeably dated and in need of renovation. While the staff was pleasant, the room itself was not as clean as it should have been. The carpet was stained, had an unpleasant odor, and gave the room an overall unclean feel. The furnishings and décor also appeared worn and overdue for updating.
With some investment in renovations and improved housekeeping standards, this property could be much more enjoyable. At its current condition, it did not provide the level of comfort we were expecting."
"A lovely warm welcome with a real family feel to the B&B - extremely helpful too. The rooms are very comfortable. The breakfasts are outstanding using many local products and the extra homemade treats are delightful. Location is lovely with surrounding countryside - highland cows, sheep and deer whilst at the edge of the village."
"The stay was okay. The host very nice. Breakfast is continantal and you need to make it for yourself but everything is there. The room and bathroom was very clean and quiet."
"Rough rural property. Shower didn’t work and bathtub slippery and risky for seniors. Beds clean and comfortable and terrace with a lovely view of cow pasture, lots of swallows and birdsong. So — mixed. The Rising Sun restaurant connected was very good and inexpensive."
"The lodge (inside) was clean, roomy, and comfortable. Outside there were kids toys, food wrappers, and other debris on the ground. It appeared that there were multiple families, most likely refugees, living full time in a number of the lodges next to resort visitors/tourists.
There are no dining options on the island during the week, although we were told by the front desk staff (incorrectly) that the golf club did serve dinner.
The castle was off limits due to private events but the walking trails were enjoyable.
The golf course was in excellent condition, prices were reasonable, and the staff was friendly."
