"The older black lady working the desk is one of those that are overly sensitive, so be careful at what you said or she’ll turn that nasty attitude on. The thermostat display doesn’t work im the room, so you have get up multiple times during the night and turn it off or on. Getting comfortable was not an option. I killed a little roach on the desk. The entire floor smoked like Mary Jane. The swimming pool was closed with a black tarp coving over it, which was the main reason I booked the motel. Don’t book here just move on and pay the $10-15 somewhere else."

"I arrived to the property desperately needing a room after a Hilton property canceled my prepaid reservation for the night due to "overbooking." The front desk rep that checked me in at Holiday Inn & Suites Columbia made a stressful situation become more bearable, not because a room was available but because she was truly a calming person, attentive, thorough, and knew her job. Her demeanor was NEEDED and on point. I made sure to compliment her in person. We didn't have any problems during our stay and may be visiting more IHG hotel properties instead of Hilton in the future because the Hilton brand has apparently lowered their standards. I'm not only saying it because of this incident, but I've experienced other incidents this year as well with Hilton. Let me add this is a great location for anyone visiting Ft Jackson, SC. Especially for Family Day and Graduation to our new soldiers. The location is only exits away from the main gate. We ate good at some local establishments near the hotel as well. Very good location."

"Room was clean, a little smaller than expected. We did have trouble with the room lock but other than that we would definitely stay again, hotel was very nicely kept and staff was awesome. They were so nice and quickly met any needs we had. We also enjoyed breakfast every morning as we stayed 3 nights."
