"If you are looking for up-to-the-minute decor, this is not the place for you. But our hosts' warm welcome and happy atmosphere worked for us. The dinner restaurant recommendation was great (Ye Olde Tavern), our host-prepared-breakfast (eggs to order) was excellent. The beds seemed a little soft but were totally comfortable, the inn was quiet and we slept like rocks. "We had an excellent off-season stay here. The staff are all super friendly and accommodating. The rooms were exceptionally clean, spacious, with very comfortable beds. The whole property is friendly to dogs on leashes(except possibly inside The Red Slate Restaurant). We stayed for 2 nights and had a wonderful time exploring nearby Manchester, Londonderry, and Dorset. The Red Slate had an excellent menu and we ate there for 2 dinners and breakfasts (reservations on Open Table Suggested). The bar features all Vermont made beer, wine, and liquor, with inventive cocktails. We would highly recommend! Please note that during the off-season A/C was not available in our room, the outdoor pool was closed, the only access to 2nd floor is via stairs, and the room interior was slightly outdated. These things did not negatively effect our trip in any way. Will definitely stay here again. :)"
