The Rock of Cashel is a formidable series of religious structures that overlooks County Tipperary in Ireland. The area holds significant religious and political history, as the ancient seat for the Kings of Munster it is said to be the site where St. Patrick baptized King Muirchertach Ua Briain. The oldest buildings date to the 12th century when the King donated the land to the Church. Overall the site houses a round tower, cathedral, chapel, and a graveyard featuring several iconic Celtic Crosses. This is one of my most favorite places in Ireland, with it being a quick and convenient bus trip from Dublin it should be a quintessential stop for any Irish travels! #Ireland #History

As seen from the Rock of Cashel burial grounds, I took about 8 pictures of the Abbey and in each one there was almost freakish clarity of the abbey. Definitely a very "thin place." #green

Nestled deep in the County Tipperary countryside, on the western banks of the River Suir and just a little south of the Cahir Park Golf Club, Swiss Cottage is a rural house in every respect. Ireland has ancient stonemasonry in abundance, but it is rare to find such an excellently preserved example of a 19th century cottage as this one in Cahir.
