"This hotel was a great find! It is very affordably priced with a good location in Kunming. It is within walking distance of a metro station. The main negative feature was the surprisingly dirty carpets in the hallways for the rooms. The lobby area and most common area were all pristine. But, when we got off the elevator to go our room, which was also clean, I was a bit shocked to see carpeting that hadn’t been cleaned in a long time, with dirt stains all over the carpet. Another negative feature was the maintenance of the bathroom in our room. It was clean, but the paint was peeling on some sections, and the caulking around the shower door was unsightly, and not well done. On the positive side, the staff members were very friendly and exceptionally helpful, and I was very pleased with their responsiveness to my requests. The buffet breakfast was also quite well done, with a variety of Chinese food selections including steamed buns, dumplings, meats with vegetables, salad, porridges, fried eggs, breads to toast, fruit, juices, and noodles. It was a treat to eat breakfast each morning. The fitness center is very large with a lot of well-maintained equipment to use. A laundry facility is available with free washers and dryers, and laundry soap is provided as well, free of charge. I hope to return to Kunming, and will definitely stay here again!"

"The Grand Park Kunming was an excellent choice for our visit. Everything was perfect. We arrived late at night after a long train ride and were greeted with a snack-bag, a bowl of fruit and flowers. The staff helped us with everything, from taxis, to umbrellas. The neighborhood was safe for strolling at night and we loved walking in nearby Green Lake Park. The fitness center is very well outfitted and it worth the visit just for the views of Kunming. Finally, the breakfast was incredible. The buffet and specially prepared dishes were amazing. I could not believe the variety of choices. I highly recommend"

"The lobby area is very nice and the property is clean. Very good breakfast buffet with mix of Western and Chinese offerings. Our room on the 18th floor was clean and comfortable, felt like a budget chain hotel in the US. The only negative the carpet and furnishings which are worn and could stand to be replaced. Staff at the front desk were helpful."

"The hotel address was wrong on Expedia and it took awhile for me to find the hotel from the airport (I had dropped off early and had a night flight and wanted a place to rest in the day). Instead of walking a short distance, I had to take a 15 mins cheap didi to the hotel which was still acceptable. On arrival however, the staff were not aware of my booking or could not see it from their end. They instantly contacted their manager and gave us 2 bottles of water while I contacted Expedia who liaised with them (it was an issue on their side). They also were confused about whether we paid and whether it was just a deposit, so the whole check in process was really messy. The room however is perfect for your basic needs. Super clean, big bed, aircon, nice shower and hairdryer, slippers, but like a lame view (I don’t care cuz I was just sleeping). They picked up the phone timely as well when I called the reception and they arranged a free airport shuttle for us, and gave us a bag of treats when the shuttle was slightly late. It was extremely value for money and despite the initial mess ups, I would still highly recommend this place again for the proximity to airport, cleanliness, good hospitality of the staff and for the price. "
