Superb boutique hotel (10 bedrooms). Ideally located near all amenities. An exceptional renovation of a traditional villa, sensitively converted to offer a modern and tasteful experience. The thing that does set this hotel aside is the exceptional staff. The enthusiasm, skill and knowledge of the receptionist is unrivalled. Should be referred to as the host rather than reception. All in all a wonderful break in a traditional and safe feeling small resort.

Large comfortable and beautifully furnished suite in the roof space of a 19th century block in the centre of Trieste. Excellent location, helpful and knowledgeable manager. Quiet retreat from the city, unique ambience.

We had a good stay here. Very helpful reception staff. Room was nice and comfortable and in a quiet top floor corner setting, only slightly marred for tranquillity by a loud minibar that we had difficulty turning off (eventually found the right switch in the middle of the night). Breakfast excellent. Very well located for Trieste transport, restaurants and sights.

Pretty room in cental location. Staff super helpful!

A stylish and characterful hotel in a 19th century building, which was previously flats - one of which (on the 3rd floor) was the home of the famous writer James Joyce. The hotel celebrates its literary heritage, with a selection of books in each room, and also a comfortable and tastefully furnished reading room. Unlike some hotels which purport to have libraries, this is the real thing - it is well stocked with high brow literature by or about Joyce and other famous writers from Trieste, in...

Good choice of breakfast . Very clean throughout the hotel . Room top up of clean towels etc was excellent. Wonderful private beach with a lovely bar . The only gripe is being charged 20 euros for a bottle of water in the restaurant

Excellent location as very central but very quiet. Room was comfortable and cool despite the extreme heat outside, good breakfast and very helpful staff on Reception. Housekeeping seem to do an amazing job as everywhere looked very well cared for. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Clean, modern and helpful. Comfortable bed too! In close proximity to a couple of nice restaurants on the water’s edge. Delightful setting for an evening meal.

EXCELLENT SMALL HOTEL, with super staff, delicious food and high standrad of comfort. only small complaint is its situation on a main road: triple glazing highly effective, but no ability to turn the air con down, and I found the room very hot. otherwise five stars!

Fantastic hotel

The Grand Hotel Duchi d'Aosta is the epitome of what a small luxury five star hotel should be. All the staff were committed to ensuring we had a very pleasant staff. Any small query we had was dealt with with alacrity to ensure our needs were met. The rooms were well furnished and the housekeeping did an immaculate job. The restaurant is top class, Michelin starred cuisine, and the food has an excellent range of dishes. The spa provides a beautiful swimming pool in the basement and the...

This is a really lovely hotel. Full of character and history, but well refurbished. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, all of them. Our room, which was clean and comfortable, overlooked the inner courtyard and when we requested one with better light they saw to it quickly and efficiently. The first room had a walk-in shower, the second a bath (with jacuzzi) and hand-held shower, but the pay-off was two French windows and balcony. The breakfast buffet is astonishing: juice, fresh rolls,...

The hotel is centrally located close to all sights by foot. The room was comfortable and modern, the bathroom well equipped. Breakfast was excellent, with plenty of choice. The hotel was everything that you would want, but in particular the staff were welcoming and friendly, including reception and in particular the breakfast team. I would definitely stay here again.

Very pleasant start. Great views of the sea. Castello Miramare is a short walk away and regular bus service to Trieste (no 6 or 36).
