"Room was clean, greeted upon arrival with kindness and attentiveness. The room was pleasantly sound. It is an older building with older trim, but has been kept clean. It does NOT smell like an older hotel. Pleasantly surprised to find our room with a kitchenette. Being an Alaskan and seeing what’s becoming of downtown, I felt safe here at Voyager. We parked our car outside on the side street and it was safe and unbothered. Location is ideal within walking distance of shopping and dining."

"The bed was comfortable, and the overall room space was reasonable. The bathroom was far too small, especially for a king suite room. The toilet is only a couple of inches from the wall, so we had to sit sideways on it to use it. Also, it's a tiny toilet, which didn't help. We didn't feel like the price provided a good value, but maybe that's just the normal price in Anchorage. The breakfast was a very small buffet style that was about what you'd expect at a much lower cost Best Western (not Plus). Our biggest issue was at checkout. When we checked in, we arranged a late checkout of noon from the normal 11:00 time. The morning of checkout, we packed our bags, put them in the closet , left the "do not disturb" sign on the door and went off to a restaurant for breakfast. On our walk back at around 11:15, I received a call from the front desk saying that we had left items in the room (like all our luggage) and why hadn't we checked out. I informed him that we had a late checkout arranged, and he said he would let housekeeping know. When we got back to our room, housecleaning was inside and already cleaning, which really annoyed me. I told the lady with the clipboard that we had a late checkout arranged, and after checking the clipboard, she confirmed that it was noted and they missed it. You'd think once they saw our luggage in the room that a) they would check to see if we had a legitimate reason for not checking out by 11:00, and b) they would leave the room."

"The hotel is transitioning from the old location that was here to the brand new Hyatt JDV hotel. Still some improvements happening but the room was complete, new and comfortable to sleep in. The trains through downtown make it a little noisy but not terrible and don’t run all night long, and the hotel does provide earplugs as well in case you need them. The hotel is conveniently located in the downtown area with access to the Railroad behind it along with Ship Creek and some amazing restaurants. The hotel is on a street that is like a hill, so the 2nd floor is where the main lobby is but there are other access doors and conveniently placed staircases as well to get to your room anywhere in the hotel. Would definitely stay here again!"
