"I stayed in the standard area of The Barn as a solo traveler and felt very safe during my stay! I stayed for two nights. Both nights my dorm was full, but the second night I found myself as the only woman with less-than-courteous dorm mates. The Barn staff was helpful in finding me a new dorm, which I really appreciated. I would stay here again. "

"This hotel is absolutely amazing! It’s so clean and beautiful. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, always going the extra mile. For example, when we checked out early, they prepared croissants to take away. We also forgot our water bottle on reception when leaving, but one of the staff members ran it to us in a car park! The restaurant on site is fabulous. The food is really good, and the atmosphere is nice. The views are breathtaking. There’s also a sauna, which is a nice touch. The Black Beach Walk is also scenic. "

"This was a lovely hotel to stay at. It had a game room, restaurant, on site parking. It was clean and lovely. Would definitely recommend. "

"First the key wouldn’t open the door to our camping pod. Second, we arrived around 6pm only to find out there was no power in half of the pods. Being 20 degrees Fahrenheit out, we were forced to sit in the community dining area. No message from host or anything regarding this issue. Multiple groups of people were in the same situation as us. All we were told was there was an electrician on their way to resolve it. Electricity wasn’t restored until 11pm… only a very small space heater was provided in the pods which was not sufficient enough to comfortably sleep. The lock also froze so we were unable to latch the door. We ended up booking a different hotel and so glad we did. Tried messaging and calling the property about the issues and still haven’t heard back here a week later. DO NOT STAY HERE! Maybe in the summer it would be great but this place shouldn’t be advertised for winter stays of there is not sufficient heat. "

"You are able to see the ocean between the two mountains when looking from the front of the building. The husband and wife running things were personable and friendly and very helpful."

"Don't let first impressions as you drive in dissuade you - the place gives of a bit of a barn/farm vibe but is a very nice place once you get in. Having the reception & restaurant building disconnected from the building with the rooms was a little annoying - meant you had to bring your jacket and get pelted by rain/sleet/snow when you came down for dinner or breakfast. The restaurant was very nice and large and the buffet dinner offered a really nice assortment of options. The breakfast buffet was kinda lacking some of the staples we found at every other breakfast (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage) but was ok nonetheless. The restaurant staff were very competent (if not personable) and seemed to have been trained like a fine tuned machine (it felt like they were wiping away crumbs before they hit the table). Overall a nice place after a very hectic day."

"Very clean room and helpful staff. The breakfast buffet was very good and There is also a very nice lounge on the ground floor if you wanted to relax or work."

"A superb location and a clean and tidy place. The rooms we had seemed fairly newly refurbished which were comfortable. Be warned it is a places intended for high volumes of guests like coach parties. We opted not to have the buffet dinner which when we returned and saw it was a good choice Vik is only 15 min drive away. Breakfast was a good spread but the cooked food was cold and the dining area reminded me of being back at school. Overall a comfortable place for one night in a lovely location. Friendly staff but we were not their typical target audience."
