"The property was in a fairytale house in a magical location. All the little extra touches - such as bathrobes and slippers. daily complimentary water, chocolate etc - were truly the icing on the cake. The staff showed a real pride in working at the Castle and truly helped to set the atmosphere. Check-in and out were brilliant. The restaurant was superb with a jaw-dropping view of the Castle and sumptuous breakfast. If you think I seem enthusiastic it is because I am!"

"The Ferryboat Inn is an old establishment that I last visited ten years ago. It has been sympathetically refurbished keep a lot of the original features but adding a new bar in place of the old conservatory. I was very impressed with all the changes."

"Hotel and room were clean, and staff were good, but there was no air conditioning anywhere, in the rooms or the restaurant. They just relied on floor fans. Really not good with the summer we've had. Plenty of parking spaces, but no EV charge points."
"Very nice room, aircon worked extremely well, had to turn it down a bit despite staying over on one of the heatwave nights. Staff were excellent, and breakfast was nice as well. Only thing to mention was the lack of parking availability. Whilst I booked my parking spot well in advance, it was clear they filled up very quickly, and weren't enough spaces for guests. There were EV chargers as well, which were all working and easy to use, but once the car was charged, there was no space to move it to a regular parking spot, so the hotel staff told me to just leave it there overnight, blocking someone else from potentially using it - not ideal for a Hilton.
Overall though, excellent, would definitely stay again."
"Nice one night stay, staff welcoming and helpful.
Hotel clean, just a few places where attention is needed, decor and maintenance wise and £10 for 24 hours car parking, considering the location is a bit out of order!"
"Breakfast was great although not enough staff to manage everything during very busy periods. The two members that were there were most helpful and polite.Long blond hair that was untied was worrying as it was possible for this to touch plates and food. Also insufficient choice of food for evening.[ pitsas only ]"
"I grew up in Canterbury and while I live in New York, I visit many times a year to see friends and family and have stayed at many different hotels but after staying here a few years ago, I look nowhere else. It’s central location is second to none, the ornate and wonderfully maintained interior character of the lobby, stairways, bar, restaurant, hallways and of course the rooms is meticulous. From the front desk to the house keeping staff, everyone is extremely helpful, courteous and polite with a professionalism they clearly take pride in upholding. The rooms are always very clean, wonderfully decorated, very comfortable and provide all the amenities you could want when traveling. I have stayed here through freezing cold winters and blisteringly hot summers yet the rooms never fail to efficiently maintain an exceptionally comfortable temperature. I cannot recommend staying here highly enough, and very much look forward to my next visit in a few weeks!"
"It’s a bit of a mixed bag, the hotel has such a great setting on the lakeside and was great for a meal and drink in the sunshine. Inside however the rooms are clean but very tired and dated.
We booked a Bridal room which had a four poster bed that was very small and made some very loud noises if you moved or turned over while sleeping, not particularly romantic. The decor is dated and the bathroom was well past its best.
We had a meal on the terrace which was good and reasonably priced.
Breakfast was very busy with orders for hot food taken at the table however on the second day no one came to ask if we wanted anything from the cooked menu so I had toast.
Given the price it’s decent value for money and we would book again but with a proper bed."
"We stayed 2 nights for our wedding anniversary. We had a large very comfortable room. Excellent breakfasts and dinners. All staff were very friendly and helpful. We both had a very nice treatment in the spa and enjoyed the pool. Nothing to find fault with."
"Lovely hotel, fantastic value for money! The staff were very helpful and friendly and the house keeping staff had made a real effort to decorate the room for our 5 year old's birthday. The pool was a brilliant amenity, and very appreciated by our 5 year old, made it feel more special. The room was huge and had everything we needed, our only slight issue was how warm the room got, as there is no AC and the room and bathroom are a little tired but considering the cost it is definitely value for money and we would definitely return."
