"I view this as a base level 4 star, not a 5 star hotel as advertised. There a pieces that are up to that level (beach bar, welcome greeting) but others fall flat of expectations. It's certainly geared more towards families than couples and I would not endorse this if you don't have or want to hear children at all times. To eat anywhere on the property for dinner requires a reservation that cannot be made until you check in and then none are available once you do and you're left in a scramble. Areas of improvement: The layout of the bathroom was odd where the toilet was in the shower so you couldn't actually use the non-rainshower option or it would cover the toilet. It's also difficult to get in touch with staff unless you go to reception which is quite far for some accommodations or stay in your room. The TVs don't have any streaming apps or screen mirror capabilities. The headboard had a deep stain that was unpleasant.
As always, do your research and check if other options nearby could be a better value for you."
"Breakfast was great, very friendly staff. The only issue we ran into was when we misplaced our room key. They give you a fob card for power in your room but they also give you a key for your room. I feel like the key is unnecessary and they should just move to the fobs but besides that it was a great place. It is on a hill with a massive incline so if your room is in the 200s or 300s be prepared for a workout. Location is great as its outside of main Elounda but only a 20min walk ( or 5 min drive )"
"Beautiful resort with very friendly and professional staff. We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa and had our own pool. The view from our deck was amazing! Breakfast buffet had many choices and it was very good. "
"We were only there for one night but were especially impressed with how clean the room/property was. We enjoyed the dinner buffet and the wait staff were friendly and attentive. Our room was very spacious and we had a chance to enjoy the balcony for our morning coffee. We would stay here again if in the area."
"This hotel is truely exceptional. From the stunning beaches and pool to the incredible staff, to the banquet style breakfast which changes daily and has something for everyone, I would absolutely recommend it. We travelled with our 11 month old and were thrilled so see so many other families with young babies too, but you’d never know as the resort is super private and quiet - doesn’t feel family friendly at all, but totally is. Could be my favourite hotel ever. Highly recommend. "
"We loved our time at the IHG- Intercontinental Crete. It’s centrally located in Agios Nikolaos to great food and shops. The hotel has valet parking and it was very easy to get in and out quickly. The staff could not have been more pleasant. From the moment we arrived, they were very attentive and kind. The breakfast was phenomenal and included with out stay. This saved us time and money looking outside of the hotel for breakfast each day. The hotel restaurant and bar are great too. We spent each night having a delicious meal or drink at the hotel. The room was spacious and had everything to make our stay feel like home. We loved our time! 10/10"

"Dora was amazing! She helped us plan some great day trips. More local traditional Greek food at the dinner buffet would have been appreciated. Our room was very damp and smelt musty. We only stayed for 3 nights but would have asked to be moved if staying longer. . "
