Just back from a visit to Idar-Oberstein. Parking was easy, I arrived after 10pm so reception was closed but a staff member was able to quickly get me checked in. Room was perfect for my stay.
Hotel is close to the Felsenkirche and castles. The Norma shop is 2 minutes walk away and there are several places to eat in the square.

It was a very nice experience staying at the hotel. The staffs are very friendly and the price are also fair. The hotel rooms are pretty clean and the location is amazing if you like to do more of walking or hiking. It was a bit private place, not much noise from outside. Just pure Nature. Im very happy with our stay. Highly recommended.

Old hotel with character but modern facilities, particularly the bathroom. Rather soft bed and pillow, but that seems to be standard for many German hotels. Good location in old town with free parking but be prepared to carry your luggage a bit.
Note many rooms are in a separate annex – a recently converted old building about three minute’s walk from the main hotel with no lifts.

Lovely place to stay and relax, great pool and sauna facilities. Nice restaurant and bar and easy parking. Nothing else around except a separate Italian restaurant which was basic but served fab food at good prices - a nice alternative to the hotel’s own restaurant. Safe and easy parking.
