Toyoko Inn Aizuwakamatsu Ekimae

Toyoko Inn Aizuwakamatsu Ekimae

8/10 Good
"Staff were excellent. Very friendly and were excited to promote Aizuwakamatsu and the Fukushima mascot, Akabeko. Helped me by moving me to a non-smoking room after I had mistakenly booked a smoking room. Breakfast was okay, and free. Parking is on-site via a mechanical tower. One elevator for 11 floors - the elevator is often crowded, with a queue sometimes. My only problem was that the rooms are not soundproofed, the other guests on my floor were extremely noisy and could be heard through the walls and shouting in the corridoor."

"The location was great Install translate before you go Ask for a bus timetable and the free tickets you get as part of your stay Uber does not work out near Nasu, no uber eats or car rides Install go taxi, it's there uber equivalent Food is scarce around the hotel so plan ahead and get food from the local shops, family marts are great, 7elevens are ok to If you eat at the buffet restaurant at the hotel you need to book it as part of the hotel booking. We did not and it cost me $214 (aud) for 2 adults and 1 child, we didn't know this ahead of time. The hot springs / baths are a no cloths zone, kids 6 and older and men and woman are just all in the same water together naked, nothing against there culture it just wasn't for me. There are claw machines absolutely everywhere in Japan so if your taking kids be sure to always have some coins on you, they range for 100ยฅ to 500ยฅ Nasu highlands park was amazing Nasu safari park was good, very small but pretty cool getting up so close with so many animals."

Aizuwakamatsu Washington Hotel

Aizuwakamatsu Washington Hotel

8/10 Good
"This was a nice hotel located very close to aizuwakamatsu station. It was dated- the bathroom was clean, but had a kind of old smell. The air conditioning didnโ€™t work well, but it was cool enough to open the window. There were no laundry facilities, but there was a coin laundry pretty close by. We were given drink vouchers for each nightโ€™s stay but we didnโ€™t use them because we felt underdressed for the restaurant. The staff was very friendly and helpful- we transferred luggage and they were very helpful with that. Close to a 7-eleven and restaurants were nearby. Overall a nice stay and would stay again if going to the Aizu area."
