Constructed from 1406 to 1420, China's Forbidden City consists of 980 buildings and covers over 180 acres. Much of the Forbidden City has been meticulously restored, but there are still a few sections that remain dilapidated.

Over the centuries, millions of intelligent scholars and warriors dreamed to enter and became part of the crew of the emperor.

Young, beautiful and knowledgeable women dreamed to enter and become the concubines of the emperor.

Once they are in, they are in forever and ever.

Lots of tales sharing that very often a concubine will envy a bird.

In their eyes, a bird can fly in and fly out while they can never leave the forbidden city.

Nothing changed. Forbidden city is still a place that everyone wants to enter.

Luckily, we can now leave and go as we wish. 🙂
