Hilton Vacation Club The Historic Powhatan Williamsburg
6/10 Okay
"The experience was all just ok. Not good but not bad. The room - 2 bedroom deluxe - was great. It was large and had everything we needed. The furniture wasn’t particularly comfortable but the space as a whole was. The balcony was unusable because it’s not kept up and the table and chairs were thickly covered in pollen. The staff was fine - not bad but not great…it was efficient. The cleanliness was hit or miss. The drawers were full of what looked like cigarette tobacco and some dishes needed to be rewashed. The value was good overall but I don’t think it sets itself apart from any other resort in the area. "
"Our family spent spring break week here and had an amazing time. The room we had was clean and spacious. The only thing I would say could use some improvement is the sofa bed which was very uncomfortable and there should be a vacuum available in the room. Another resort we stayed at in the area a few years ago had a vacuum in our room. The carpet was also pretty dusty and dirty, I doubt they wash them with a wet vacuum, but I guess thats why they chose a darker color carpet.
The amenities were pretty good, lots of activities for the kids and the heated indoor pool and basketball court was the highlight. Since its still cooler weather, we didnt get to check out the outdoor pool but it looked pretty neat.
Lastly, the staff was phenomenal, specifically Peyton who was the main person we communicated with during our stay. They had the option to communicate via text which was so convenient than having to call the front desk. We needed something sent to our room and Peyton got it taken care of super quick. She also checked on us periodically and even gave us a heads up during one of the days when they ran out of towels at the pool and advised us to bring our own.
The location of the resort was close to everything which was convenient as well. Everywhere we needed to go was a short drive away. We will definitely consider this resort again the next time we come down to Williamsburg."
"Spark is a nice mid level hotel. The rooms are small and hard to maneuver in. When we walked into the room the cleaning crew left a bottle of cleaning chemicals on a side table that I did not notice at first, I don’t have a small child but if I did I would’ve been concerned. And our A/C rattled so loud it would wake me . Prolly won’t stay there again"
"Upon checking in we were highly encouraged to sit through a presentation to join the Timeshare linked to the property. Breakfasts would be served for those who are interested, otherwise no breakfasts available on a daily basis. We did get a list of local restaurants that were close by and some with delivery options. We were given a map to the room and discovered we were in a Colonial King Guestroom. Being on a ground floor is ideal since we were traveling with a pet and had paid a pretty hefty pet fee. When walking into the room our shoes were immediately sticking to the floor. After unpacking and putting items into the fridge from the cooler we spilled a small amount of water on the floor and I grabbed a washcloth to wipe it up... The absolute disgusting amount of dirt on it was a tell that it was not a clean room. There was dirt on the floor next to the bed also. I didn't report it because I had already unpacked everything and decided it wasn't worth the hassle, but I have included photos of the washcloth and my socks which I wore at all times while in the room. The bathroom was problematic too. The pedestal sink was so tiny and the miniscule glass shelf above was slanted enough that some items rolled off of it. We ended up putting our toiletries in cups on the window sill. The shower leaked somewhere because the bathmat was soaked when stepping out of the shower. The grounds were nice enough for walking the dog but there were no trash cans for poop bags. "
"I love that this was close to greatwolf lodge, Colonial Williamsburg AND busch gardens. Hot food buffet we all really enjoyed, hot tub and pool, coffee, ample parking. Location slightly off the highway but not right on so that was nice.modern and comfy. Greeted us often and gave us a welcome baggie. Thank you to the staff...keep up the great work. We LOVED our stay"
