"The view was absolutely amazing and the rooms were wonderful. No complaints at all about that :) breakfast was fantastic and you can not beat the incredible views from the hotel breakfast, it was a little sun trap with views of the ocean and the beautiful mountains. It was a shame the hotel bar was closed in the day / evenings and it felt a little quiet and perhaps a little like it has been frozen in time since the 90s. It may be because we were there in May so a little out of season. Everything...

"Charming hotel, quite central and wibes of the 60-ts jetset so a bit dated, but clean an familiar. The wievs are the best, the negatives are the hard beds and no ac. Lovely little rooftop pool. Walk down to center or old town and take a taxi home, easy and cheep if you dont want to climb the hill up..."

"It was very central for the town of Funchal. The room had everything and the lady on reception was very very helpful and friendly. The cooked breakfast could have been warmer and the restaurant kept odd hours and didn't feel like it was part of the hotel. As you are in the heart of the town you have to expect noise at night from residents living nearby"
