"I’ve stayed here a few times over the years, so it’s not really that bad, the pool is never usable, the breakfast is a joke, the rooms are worn and the bathroom is especially worn out. Why do I stay there? Price, convenience and the staff. The place is right off the highway, quiet and safe feeling, the price is the best I could find for Kentucky Derby week, and the staff is friendly and helpful. "Breakfast was amazing - with two teenage boys to feed on the road, this was a great place and they definitely got their fill!"

"Room was very big and had a separate seating area which was very nice. It looked very clean however had an unpleasant odor that we thought was just from being closed up but didn't go away after leaving door open fir a bit and running air-conditioner. The tub drained extremely slow so had to stand in ankle deep water while showering. Other than those 2 things, it was a nice, clean, roomy and affordable property."

"Location was great and staff was great. Everything was newly painted. However rooms need new beds and pillows. The first room we went to was very musty and damp #114. I could not have slept there. The rooms are very small. Fridge did not work either. Would not stay here again due to the bed. We got no sleep. There was a whole in mattress and I rolled into him all night."

"We had a great stay here because of the beautifully restored building, our spacious and comfortable room, and the perfect location - not directly on Main Street but just a block away, making it both quiet and convenient. Be aware that there are no staff on site - access to the building and your room are via numeric code sent to you ahead of your stay. This was a new experience for us but it worked just fine. There's also no restaurant or bar on the premises, but step outside and you'll have many choices just steps away. We would definitely stay here again on a return visit to Madison."
