The staff was great even before arrival. There was a transit strike the day of our arrival and I was notified by one of the staff members via message in regard to that and they offered to book us a taxi from the airport to the hotel. That worked out perfectly! They were all very helpful with any questions we had and sight seeing suggestions too. The room was clean and very nice. Beds were comfortable as well. I highly recommend this property for your stay in Amsterdam!

It’s a wanna-be Citizen M, but lacks the amenities, cleanliness, and staff. There was always a line at the desk, the hall iron was adequate. The good thing about this hotel is the location.

This hotel is like nothing we’ve experienced before. The property is unique and eclectic while maintaining an elegant feel. The staff were excellent.

The location of this hotel is unbeatable. It overlooks the Amsterdam Centraal train station on its canal(inner) side and you can see the Adam tower directly (of course in a room with canal view).The food from room service and Carstens restaurant were both above-average.
The room was decent in size compared to other European hotels, clean but were a bit out-dated and had some dusty smell. Staff was friendly in general but on the last day of our stay we were surprised to find that there were no fresh towel provided to us after the room was made up. We have to call 2 times and waited for quite a bit before a staff showed up with the towels.
The worst part of our 9-day stay began on the Friday(our 3rd day) when a couple took the room next to us who seem to be in bad mood. The women yelled and cursed on top of her high pitch voice continuously for a few hours even after the mid-night. It got worse on Saturday night as another younger woman joined them but yelled even more as if in a big quarrel. Their noise usually started around 11pm and lasted for a few hours into 2 to 3pm. The same happened on Sunday night as well. We felt relieved the noise's finally gone on Monday as it seemed they have left. But it felt like a torture to us when we were exhausted after a full day packed with various activities and really need some good sleep at night. We understand it was not what the hotel can control but it was truly a nuisance.
