COVID-19 has changed how we travel, but it hasn't shut down our love of exploring. Here are some tips on how to cope with travel's new challenges:

• Understand what rules and restrictions apply to both your origin and destination. You may not be able to travel depending on local circumstances, so make sure you check government advisories before booking.
• Keep your face mask on even during airport screening. A TSA employee will require you to lower your mask temporarily for identification purposes.
• To reduce the possibility of cross-contamination, place your boarding pass on the scanner yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA agent.
• One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now allowed in your carry-on bag. It must not be larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll have to remove it from your bag at the X-ray machine for scanning.
• Empty your personal items from your pockets, such as your wallet, coins and keys, and place them in your carry-on rather than into bins. This will minimize handling during the screening process.
• Transport any food items in a clear plastic bag and also put them in a screening bin. Keeping your food separate from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA officer will need to open and touch your bag for inspection.
